Official Results
Senior Photography
578 — Troy Watson — winner
Great composition—well balanced and not overplayed or oversaturated. Macro photography can be challenging to light evenly, and the entrant has done well. Strong work capturing animal behaviour, especially with a moving subject.
494 — Sylvio Michel (2nd place)
A beautiful sequence of images showing cloud reflections in the water. The entrant intelligently breaks the rule of thirds, with what appears to be three distinct reflective sunset moments.
420 — George Smith (3rd place)
Beautiful images with a difficult subject to capture, reflecting a high degree of difficulty. Bright, vibrant photos with strong use of space.
Junior Photography
604 — Samuela Ostring — winner
An artistic depiction capturing the end of day. Good depth in the image, with the grass adding an extra layer of creativity.
648 — iSon Gerken (second)
A standout image capturing the drama of a bird in motion. High level of skill required, and the blurred background strengthens the sense of action.
714 — Trinay Mulder (third)
An attractive image with leaf composition leading the eye to the featured flower. Another well-liked photo—natural, slightly desaturated, and easy to look at.
Junior Film
975 — iSon Gerken – winner
Strong technical competency with a good range of angles to maintain engagement. Great use of low sun to backlight the subject. The video has been done well.
796 — Sergio Da Fre (second)
Good storytelling through the sequences of video selected. The landscape footage and use of photos added to the visual impact. A very close runner up to the winning entry.
320 — Mason Cavilla (third)
An interesting film with effective use of timelapse. The wildlife footage, which can be difficult to capture—adds to the overall appeal.
